THE BENEFITS OF SHEA BUTTER FOR NATURAL HAIR

When it comes to hair, the ingredients we use in our products can have a massive impact on how our strands look and feel. For natural hair, nourishing and moisturizing ingredients can make the difference between just another day and a great hair day. Here, we’ll discuss one of our favorite ingredients for natural hair – shea butter – and how you can incorporate it into your haircare routine.

What Is Shea Butter?

The shea tree is a large, leafy tree that thrives in the African savanna. It produces the deliciously tart shea fruit, and inside the fruit are large, oil-rich seeds. It’s from these seeds that we extract thick, buttery shea butter. Shea butter is often found in skin-softening soaps, skincare ingredients, and, of course, haircare.

Is Shea Butter Good for Hair?

Like all haircare ingredients, this depends on your hair type, texture, and health. Shea butter is rich in fatty acids, which can be especially helpful for curls, coils, and dry scalps and strands – but should be avoided if you have very fine hair that’s easily weighed down by product.

Gold Series Miracle Detangler

So how do you incorporate shea butter into your haircare routine? While you can use high-quality shea butter directly on your strands, our favorite way to use it is by picking a product that incorporates it with other moisturizing ingredients to get the most benefits for your hair.

Pantene Gold Series Miracle Detangler is infused with shea butter and argan oil in every bottle. It helps detangle and soften curls and coils and smooths the cuticle for easier combing, which means less broken strands and more great hair days.
