- Question
Why does the ponytail need to be at least 8 inches long?
Answer
Thanks for asking.
The manufacturing process for a real hair wig needs a minimum of 8 inches of donated hair in order to knot the hair at the cap of
the wig, cut it into a natural style, and offer a range of lengths for wig recipients.

- Question
What causes damage like split ends to hair?
Answer
There are several things that can cause damage or split ends to your hair. They are:
- Chemical treatments: Treatments such as permanents and coloring can result in damage to the hair.
- Mechanical: Hair brushes, combs even frequent use of clips and rubber bands can damage the cuticle.
- Heat: Curling irons, hot rollers & blow dryers can damage the hair over time.
- Exposure: Damage can result from exposure to the sun, weather and swimming.
Long hair is more likely to have damage than short hair, because it's been exposed to more causes of damage. It's also harder
for the natural oils of the scalp to reach the ends to help protect them.
Using conditioners and styling products can help minimize the look of damage and help protect hair from more damage. These are
temporary--the damage itself can't be fixed. Want to know how to prevent damage?
- Keep the ends of your hair trimmed frequently (every 4-6 weeks). Damage starts at the ends of hair.
- Be careful when combing, brushing or styling hair, especially when hair is wet, as this is when hair is most fragile. We
recommend using a wide tooth comb when hair is wet.
- Let hair "air dry" when possible.
- Use good conditioners to help protect the hair from daily exposure to damage.

- Question
Can I donate an older ponytail to Pantene Beautiful Lengths?
Answer
We really appreciate your willingness to donate a ponytail that may have sentimental value to you. As long as your ponytail
meets the hair requirements on our website, it can be donated. But even though the hair may appear to be in good condition, it
might be fragile. For that reason, we can’t guarantee it will survive the wig making process, and we wanted you to know that
before you make your donation.

- Question
Are Pantene products tested on animals?
Answer
Unfortunately some misinformation has recently appeared which may have compromised your trust in Pantene. Rather than trust wrong
information here are the facts:
- Pantene products are not tested on animals. Full stop. Nor do we ask any supplier or contract lab to test them on our behalf.
All messages implying Pantene or any other P&G Beauty & Grooming product was tested on animals are wrong!
- We passionately believe that ending animal testing is a benefit for all - consumers, animal welfare and industry. In
fact, P&G is a global leader in supporting alternatives to animal research, having invested more than $250 million to date in
helping to develop more than 50 proven alternative methods. We collaborate with governments and universities to promote
acceptance of alternatives. If you want to learn more about our efforts, please visit http://www.pgbeautygroomingscience.com/
